ADC Anmol Dhaliwal Visits Naya Gaon; Reviews Water Supply, STP Work and Civic Services

Six New Tubewells to be installed before Summer Naya Gaon (SAS Nagar), January 30: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shri Anmol Dhaliwal today visited Naya Gaon to review key civic infrastructure projects and assess measures to address water scarcity and sanitation issues ahead of the summer season. During the visit, the ADC explored the possibility of identifying suitable sites for the installation of six new tubewells to ensure adequate drinking water supply and effectively tackle the problem of water shortage during peak summer months. He directed the concerned departments to expedite the site identification process so that necessary approvals and execution can be taken up in a timely manner. The ADC also took stock of the ongoing work of the new Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Naya Gaon. Officials informed him that the project is progressing as per schedule and is expected to be completed by the end of February. ADC Dhaliwal emphasized the importance of maintaining quality standards and directed officers to ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe. Reviewing the sanitation scenario, the ADC instructed the Municipal Council staff to ensure regular collection of garbage and maintain cleanliness in all areas of Naya Gaon. He stressed that negligence in sanitation would not be tolerated and accountability must be fixed for any lapses. The ADC further directed the municipal authorities to initiate an anti-encroachment drive to remove illegal encroachments, particularly on public land and roads, in order to improve mobility, hygiene and overall civic amenities. ADC Dhaliwal reiterated the district administration’s commitment to improving basic infrastructure and providing better civic facilities to residents, while ensuring strict monitoring of ongoing development works.
